The Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI) successfully held a comprehensive orientation and update session on the CREATE Act and Strategic Investment Priority Plan (SIPP) from October 11 to 14, 2024, at the Acacia Hotel in Davao City. This event featured an Investment Forum and a targeted workshop for Registered Business Enterprises (RBEs) on the use of FIRB (Fiscal Incentives Review Board) templates, with resource speakers from the Board of Investments (BOI) and FIRB. The event reflects BBOI’s ongoing commitment to equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and tools essential for encouraging a substantial investment landscape in the Bangsamoro region.
Resource speakers from BOI and FIRB provided participants with updated insights on the CREATE (Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises) Act, a law aimed at encouraging investment through competitive tax rates and incentives. During the SIPP session, participants learned about priority sectors within the Bangsamoro region, aligning local investment opportunities with the nation’s economic objectives.
The Investment Forum offered a collaborative environment where public and private sector representatives engaged in discussions and networking, further supporting BBOI’s commitment to cultivating a business-friendly climate and sustainable growth across the Bangsamoro region.
The FIRB-led workshop provided RBEs with hands-on training on FIRB templates, focusing on proper utilization for compliance with the CREATE Act’s incentive guidelines. This training supports efficient business operations and aligns with national standards for tax incentive reporting.
